Janet married Elwin Harvey “Skip” Hall on January 16, 1960, in Galena, Illinois. They were divorced in 1971. They had three children: Janet Janine Hall (Brammer), from Rochester, Minnesota; Michael Palmer Hall, from Clear Lake, Iowa; and David Robison Hall, from Rochester, Minnesota. Janet is survived by her three children; 10 grandchildren: Crystal, Timothy, Tyler, Alexa, Hallie, Angelo, Autumn, Emma, Nicolas, and Nathaniel; and 12 great-grandchildren: Joseph, Julia, Nicholas, Matthew, Noah, Wyatt, Isabella, Barrett, Laila, River, Beau, and Lavender. Janet grew up on a farm in Buchanan County and attended country schools Westburg #6 and #7 before attending Independence public schools. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science; Social Work. She was a strong advocate for the environment and studied genealogy and social psychology. Her reclusive later life and time were spent with her family. Janet wrote her self-published autobiography at age 74, entitled FAMILY LUNACY: Shunned Loser in the Heartland, in 2016. There will be no funeral. Interment will be at the Rowley Cemetery in Iowa.
