JESUP – Marian Darlene Hough, 83 years old of Jesup, IA, died Monday, September 21, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Hazleton, IA.

Family graveside services were held Thursday, September 24, 2026, at St. Athanasius Catholic Cemetery, Jesup, with Fr. David Beckman officiating.

Marian was born September 16, 1943, in Wahpeton, North Dakota, the daughter of Alois Conrad Duwenhoegger and Mae Eleanor (Dolezal) Duwenhoegger. She graduated high school with the class of 1961 in Wahpeton. On April 11, 1963, she was united in marriage to Benjamin Gordon Hough in Wahpeton. They eventually moved to Jesup where Marian worked as a seamstress out of her home. She was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup and had volunteered as a Girl Scout leader. She was a proud grandmother and enjoyed being with her family. Marian also was a friend to animals and enjoyed sheltering cats.

Marian is survived by two daughters, Lesllie Queen (Evan Scot) of Mountain Home, AK, and Mary Hough of Hazleton, IA; three grandchildren, Sumer (Jan) Menkveld, Corey (Kelly) Sebetka, Ryan (Erika) Sebetka; six great-grandchildren, Adriahna Hill, D’Marius Hill, Emersyn Menkveld, Gage Sebetka, Dayton Sebetka, Jackson Rhinehard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Benjamin (May 30, 2009); one stillborn sister; one granddaughter, Tessa Armstrong; two sisters, Diane Nevacek and Joann Tanberg.

White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, assisted the family with arrangements.
