JESUP – Charlene Agnes “Chuckie” Youngblut, 96 years old of Jesup, IA, died Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the Cedar Valley Hospice House in Waterloo, IA.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. – Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, IA, with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 17, 2025, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup where there will be a 4:00 p.m. Catholic Daughters of the Americas Rosary and a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service. Visitation will continue for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Charlene was born August 10, 1929, in Black Hawk County, IA, the daughter of Frank Schaefer and Elizabeth (Hemmer) Schaefer. She was valedictorian of her high school class at Sacred Heart High School in Waterloo. On February 26, 1949, she was united in marriage to Gerald John Youngblut at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilbertville, IA. She was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of the Americas and a nearly 50-year member of the Rural Women’s Study Club in Jesup.

Charlene is survived by her children, Janan (Leonard) Weber of Dunkerton, IA, Linda Bengston of Waterloo, Stephen (Debra) Youngblut of Jesup, Julie Youngblut of Iowa City, IA, Daniel Youngblut of Jesup, David (Ping) Youngblut of Waterloo, Marie Schares (Delbert Moore) of Jesup, Ronald (Patricia) Youngblut of Jesup, Bernard Youngblut (Heather Peverill) of Waterloo, Sharon (Dennis) Rigdon of Jesup and Lisa (Leon) Delagardelle of Jesup; 36 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Joan Youngblut of Cedar Falls, IA.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Youngblut (12/13/2014); also, her parents; four grandchildren, Nicholas Schares, Jaccob Morelock, Kristina Weber, Jennifer Weber; three brothers, Henry “Hank” Schaefer, Roger Schaefer, Franklin “Pete” Schaefer; and five sisters, Janette Schaefer, Mildred “Millie” O’Connor, Donalene “Donnie” Butler, LaVonne Weber and Vernette “Rosie” Youngblut; also a son-in-law, Ronald Bengston.

White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, is in charge of the arrangements.
