JESUP – Ryan Scot Brockmeyer, 41 years old, of Jesup, IA, died Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Unity Point-Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo IA, following a heart attack.

He was born March 31, 1984, in Ottumwa, IA, the son of Danny Ray Brockmeyer and Susan Marie (Shullaw) Brockmeyer. Ryan graduated from Waverly-Shell Rock High School with the class of 2002. On October 11, 2003, he was united in marriage to Sarah Jane Kelly at St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup. They recently divorced. Ryan worked as a carman, repairing railroad cars and enjoyed fishing.

Ryan is survived by a daughter, Margaret “Maggie” Brockmeyer of Ames, IA; a son Luke Brockmeyer of Jesup; his father, Dan Brockmeyer of Jesup; and two half brothers, Austin and Lance Davis. His grandparents, Robert and Carol Brockmeyer preceded him in death.
