JESUP – Anita “SUE” Johnson, 85 years old of Independence, IA, and formerly of Jesup, IA, died Monday, September 29, 2025, at her home.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, IA, with burial at the Littleton Cemetery, Littleton.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 6, 2025, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, where there will be a parish rosary at 4:00 p.m. – Monday. Sue was born July 14, 1940, in Marshalltown, IA, the daughter of Lebardo Joseph Terrones and Dorothy Irene (Dilner) Strand. She graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic Schools in Waterloo, IA. On October 24, 1959, she was united in marriage to Louis Anton Johnson at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waterloo. They made their home in the Littleton area of Buchanan County for many years. Sue worked 30 plus years at the Mental Health Institute in Independence as a pharmacy technician, retiring in 2000. She and her husband enjoyed dancing and frequented the Coliseum in Oelwein. She also enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family. Sue was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup.

Sue is survived by two sons, Mark (Dorothy) Johnson of Oelwein, Greg Johnson of Littleton; two grandsons, Justin (Tasha) Johnson of Oelwein, Joshua (Kyla) Johnson of Jesup; 6 great-grandchildren.

Her husband Louis (February 24, 2025); her parents; and one great grandson, Jordan Louis Johnson; preceded her in death.
