JESUP – Marcia Ann Jacobsen, 79 years old of rural Jesup, IA, at Littleton died Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at her home following a lengthy illness.

Marcia was born September 27, 1945, in Independence, IA, the daughter of August Julius Horn and Myrtle May (Spangenberg) Horn. She graduated from Independence High School with the class of 1964. Marcia was united in marriage to Donald Cecil Jacobsen on July 25, 1964, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Independence. She worked in the fabric department at Wal-Mart in Independence for many years, where she enjoyed helping customers and making new friends.

Marcia is survived by her husband, Donald of Littleton; three daughters, Ronda (David) Pries of Jesup, Connie (Richard) Johnson of Tavares, FL, Michele Jacobsen of La Porte City, IA; one son, Donald C. “Donny” (Jennifer) Jacobsen, II, of Jesup; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Maurice Horn; half brothers and sisters, Robert Horn, DeVere Horn, Elizabeth Postel, August Horn, Evelyn Horn, Claude O’Brien.

Marcia’s cremated remains will be interred in Littleton Cemetery, at a later date.

White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, assisted Marcia’s family with her arrangements.
