JESUP – William Louis Moran (Bill), 80 years old, of Jesup, Iowa, died Friday, September 12, 2025, at the Hillcrest Living Center in Sumner, Iowa after a lengthy illness.

Visitation will be from 9:30am to 11am on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, with services and military rights to follow at 11am at White Funeral Home in Jesup. Online condolences may be posted at www.White-MtHope.com.

William Louis Moran (Bill) was born to Don and Eunice Burkholder and was adopted at birth by his parents William LeRoy and Icie (Swanger) Moran on November 5, 1944, in Waterloo, Iowa.

Bill enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served from 1961 thru 1964; he was a proud Vietnam Veteran and was among the first Navy Seals.

Bill met the love of his life, Sharon (Frahm) Moran and they were married on June 1, 1968 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.

He worked maintenance at John Deere for many years, officially retiring in 2004.

Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sharon; two sons, John (Christina) Moran of Cedar Falls, IA, and Sean (Tami) Moran of Denver, IA; one daughter, Shasta (Jon) Zimmerman of Jesup, IA. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Natalie Moran, Gabe Zimmerman, Drake Zimmerman, Rylee Moran, Alex Moran and Ryan Moran.

He was preceded in death by both sets of his parents, his in-laws Arthur and Caroline Frahm; 1 son, William Arthur Moran in infancy; 1 grandson Hunter Moran; 1 sister Patricia Gomez; and 1 brother Donald Burkholder.

Memorials may be directed to the family, who thank their extended family and friends for all of the support over the last few months.
