White Funeral Home
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. - Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the White Funeral Home, Independence, Iowa, with burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Independence. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 5th at the White Funeral Home, Independence, and will continue for an hour before services, Saturday, at the funeral home. Kayla Joan Robinson was born February 3, 1962, in Independence, Iowa, the daughter of Dale Lawerance and Jean Ann (Kane) Robinson. She attended school in Independence and later obtained her GED. She also graduated from La James Beauty School in Waterloo, Iowa. On May 28, 1982, she was united in marriage to Roger Dean Hall at the First United Methodist Church in Independence. They made their home in Independence for many years, before they moved to Oelwein. Kayla was a natural people person. She worked as an aid at Friendship Village in Waterloo, a hospice caretaker, a bartender, and most recently she was a preschool teacher at Wee Care in Independence. Regardless of her job she loved talking to people and helping others. There rarely was a place she would go and not run into someone she knew. She never had a harsh word about anyone. Kayla also loved to collect things. She had an extensive collection of angels, crosses, hummingbirds, and cardinals. She was a member of the Living Water Church in Independence. Kayla is survived by her husband of 43 years, Roger Hall of Oelwein, Iowa; one son, Roger Hall, II (Kelly) of Oelwein, Iowa; two daughters, Heidi (Jeff) Schoultz of Independence, Iowa, Heather (Boo) Jones of Cedar Falls, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Talexis, Jayce, Kiarrah, Gabriella, Kaylee, Drayden, Roger III, Karley, and Remington; three brothers, Dale Robinson of Blytheville, Arkansas, Kevin (Sandy) Robinson of Hazelton, Iowa, Jim Robinson of Lamont, Iowa; two sisters, Karen Utterback of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Krista (Tony) Birchard of Independence, Iowa. Kayla was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jim & Virginia Vargason; and her parents. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences may be posted at www.White-MtHope.com.
