INDEPENDENCE - Pamela Lee Brown, 71 years old, of Independence, IA, died Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at her home following a lengthy illness.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. – Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the Zion Lutheran Church – Jubilee, rural La Porte City, IA. Burial will be at the Zion Lutheran – Jubilee Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 21, 2025, at White Funeral Home, Independence, IA. Visitation will continue for an hour before services, Tuesday, at the church.

Pamela was born August 2, 1953, in Independence, IA, the daughter of LeRoy A. Tonn and W. Joan (Schaffer) Tonn. She was baptized at the Zion Lutheran Church – Jubilee, in rural La Porte City, IA, and attended school in Jesup, IA, graduating with the Jesup High School class of 1971.

On September 15, 1973, she married Burton D. Brown at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Independence, and together they had six children – Joshua, Nicole, Natale, Nanete, Justin, and Jeremy. The couple would later divorce. Pamela was very involved with her children, volunteering as a 4-H leader and Sunday School teacher for many years. She worked as a dietary aide at West Village Care Center (now – ABCM West) for over 20 years.

Pamela loved her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She loved plants, enjoyed gardening, knitting, and animals of all kinds. She was a hardworking and caring person that will be missed.

Pamela is survived by her six children, Joshua Brown of Independence, Nicole (Mark) Glumac of Stanchfield, MN, Natale (Durant) Hill of Independence, IA, Nanete (Paul) Morrical of Hastings, IA, Justin Brown of Jesup, IA, and Jeremy (Louise) Brown of Independence, IA; ten grandchildren, Nellavieve Glumac, Drew Hill, Jackson Hill, Landon Hill, Sophia Morrical, Ava Morrical, Hailey Brown, Liberty Brown, Madelyn Brown, and Addison Brown; two sisters, Nancy Bauer of Robins, IA, Cyndi (Jim) Jensen of Independence, IA; one brother, Le (Jeanne) Tonn of Independence, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Ella Brown; and brother-in-law, Lyal Bauer.
