White Funeral Home JESUP - Sharon F. Anton, 77 years old of Jesup, IA, died Sunday, July 13, 2025, at her home. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. - Friday, July 18, 2025, at the First United Methodist Church, Jesup, with burial at a later date in West View Cemetery, La Porte City, IA. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 17th at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, and for an hour before services Friday at the Church. Memorials will be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice that serves children and families in need or to the First United Methodist Church in Jesup. Online condolences may be posted at www.White-MtHope.com. Sharon was born October 20, 1947, in Waterloo, IA, the daughter of Donald L. Runyan and Mariellyn (Thune) Runyan. She graduated from La Porte City High School with the class of 1966. She continued her education at Upper Iowa University and then Iowa State University, earning a degree in Home Economics Education. On November 23, 1968, she was united in marriage to Judson Ray Anton in La Porte City. After graduating college, Sharon taught home economics briefly before becoming a stay-at-home mom while substitute teaching in Jesup. Much of her career, she served the families of Buchanan County through the Volunteer Co-Op for over 25 years with the Crisis Child Care and Healthy Families initiatives. She enjoyed supporting any youth organizations of which her daughters were involved including 4-H, church, and school activities. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Jesup. She enjoyed reading and watching wildlife from her sunroom, spending time with family and helping others. Sharon is survived by her husband, Judson Anton of Jesup; three daughters, Mary (Tom) Kiefer of Port Byron, IL, Amber (Dustin) Matthiesen of Bryant, Julie (Matt) Cook of Winthrop; also, son-in-law, Doug (Julie) Kayser of Ankeny; 14 grandchildren, Max, Claire, Ben, Katelyn, Caleb, Hailey, Carter, Molly, Emily, Dylan, Bethany, Sam, Joshua and Sara; also three sisters, Judy (Duane) Robinson of Earlville, Marleen (Tim) Darnell of Marion, Deb (Don) Huck of Jesup, and one brother, Dave (Sue) Runyan of Cresco. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one daughter, Laura Kayser (Feb 24, 2018). White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, is in charge of the arrangements.
