Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. – Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at White Funeral Home, Independence with burial at Wilson Cemetery in Independence. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 15th at White Funeral Home, Independence, and continue for an hour before services, Wednesday, at the funeral home. Pat was born April 25, 1938, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Raymond Wagner and Theresa M. Jahn. She attended school in Chicago and loved to play baseball in her younger years. She married Allen Benjamin Close, and together they had a son Scott. The couple would later divorce. Pat washed dishes and worked in the food service in Fremont, NE, with the Salvation Army. She loved to paint, had a great sense of humor, and was an avid Chicago White Sox fan. She also enjoyed her time spent at the Darryl E. Davis Day Center. Pat is survived by her foster sisters, Marilyn (Bill) Luebbe and Ruth (Dick) Eskuri, all of Chicago, IL; two brothers, Fred (Dorothy) Jones of Spring Field, MO, and Everette (Barbara) Jones of West Plains, MO; two sisters, Gladys Close of St. Louis, MO, and Carol Rasmussen of Naples, FL; her special daughter, Jasmine Fink of Stanley, IA; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Charles Jones, Sr.; her son, Scott Close; one sister, Charlotte Sampica; and two brothers, Donald Wagner, and Charles Jones, Jr. Memorials will be directed to B & D Services to support their goal of providing assistance and support to individuals with disabilities and the elderly so they may live in the environment of their choice.
