INDEPENDENCE –Rachelle Rae Lynch, 54 years old, of Independence, IA, died Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence.

Public visitation will be 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 24th, at White Funeral Home in Independence.

Private Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at White Funeral Home, Independence, with burial to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence.

Rachelle was born November 26, 1970, in Independence, IA, the daughter of Julian Leroy Pepper and Diane Marie Beatty. She graduated from Jefferson High School in Independence with the class of 1989. On September 5, 2015, she was united in marriage to David Howard Lynch in Independence. Rachelle worked as a housekeeper at the Mental Health Institute in Independence for many years before she had to retire for health purposes. Rachelle loved people and was a natural caretaker. She enjoyed working around the house and keeping her flowers and plants looking vibrant. She enjoyed snowmobiling and riding motorcycles. She loved to travel with David and enjoyed seeing the sights. Together they traveled to several states including Arizona, South Dakota, and Minnesota.

Rachelle is survived by her husband, David Lynch of Independence, IA; two step children, Laura (Dan) Loeb of Independence, IA, and Trina Lynch of Globe, AZ; 7 step grandchildren, Mercedes, Danielle, Jacklynn, Hayleigh, Shelbi, Jarod and Marcus; step great granddaughter, Lylah; her mother, Diane Beatty of Independence; her dad, Julian (Karen) Pepper of Independence; her brother, Shane (Molly) Beatty of Independence; and her sisters Robin (Ray) Wilkinson of Independence, Sherry Zieser of Cedar Rapids, and Juli (Clay) Cameron of Independence; as well as, many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents; her two step-dads, Merlan Hocken and John Kortenkamp; and her step son, Michael David Lynch.
