Independence – Charlotte M. Donley, 84 years old, of Brandon, Iowa, died on Saturday, July 9, 2016, at her home.  She was born on February 9, 1932, in Benton County, Iowa, the daughter of Buy Andrew and Ethel Elizabeth (Lehman) Roster.  She graduated from high school in Cedar Falls, Iowa.  On May 11, 1952, she and Thomas Langham Donley were married in Cedar Fall, Iowa. Mrs. Donley cared for her family all of her life.  She looked forward to preparing and serving large family meals.  She was a Cub Scout Den Mother.  She also enjoyed her church activities, traveling, ceramics, and growing flowers.  She was a member of the Brandon United Methodist Church in Brandon and the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Mrs. Donley is survived by her husband of 64 years, Thomas, 3 sons, Dave Donley of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Duane Donley and Dennis Donley, both of Brandon, Iowa, 3 grandchildren, Matthew Donley, Aaron Donley, and Tonya Allen, and 6 great grandchildren, Alyssa Wiest, Joe Ricken, Mikayla Allen, Lennon Donley, Jadyn Wiest, and Noah Donley.  She is also survived by 2 brothers, Glen Roster of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Bill Roster of Orlando, Florida, and 5 sisters, Shirley Clayton and Marge Blickenderfer, both of Waterloo, Iowa, Stella Wilbur and Donna Cambridge, both of Springfield, Missouri, and June Smith ofOklahoma City, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister, Virginia Cornwell.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2016, at the Brandon United Methodist Church in Brandon, Iowa, with Rev. Lexie Kirkpatrick officiating.  Burial will be in Bear Creek Cemetery, rural Brandon.  Friends may call for visitation from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13th, at the White Funeral Home in Independence.
