Jesup – Paul Leslie Buhrow, 91 years old of Wylie, Texas and formerly of Jesup, IA, died Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, McKinney, TX.  He was born July 1, 1924, in Frederika, IA, the son of Leonard E. Buhrow and Mary (Guhlow) Buhrow.  On July 6, 1944, he was united in marriage to Rose Grace Kremer at St. John’s Catholic Church in Waterloo, IA. They lived in Jesup, most of their married life where they raised their family.  Paul worked at Chamberlain Manufacturing in Waterloo, for 44 years before retirement.  His beloved wife Rose, preceded him in death on January 9, 2008.  Paul served in the US Army during the occupation of Japan.  He was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #8227, at Pump-Scheer American Legion Post #342, all in Jesup, IA.  The past few years he has enjoyed living with family in Texas; he had the endearing ability to make friends wherever he went.

Paul is survived by 4 daughters, Roseanne (Brent) Palin of Austin, TX, Mary (Robert) Junker of Jesup, IA, Sharon (Patrick) Murray of Sulphur, TX, Paula (Christopher) Skory, Washington, IL; six sons, Donald (Shelly) Buhrow of Pleasant Hill, IA, Thomas Buhrow of Ft. Madison, IA, Raymond (Elizabeth) Buhrow of Port St. Lucie, Fl, Richard (Candice) Buhrow of Wylie, TX, Leonard  Buhrow of Tulsa, OK, Russell (Beth) Buhrow of Allen, TX; a cherished friend, June Gridley of Fairview, TX; 26 grandchildren; 23great-grandchildren; He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rose; three sisters, Oreta Ferson, Leona Lofton, Bertha Hinson; and three brothers, Alfred Buhrow, Leonard Buhrow, Jr., and Louis Buhrow.


Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, IA, with Msgr. Lyle L. Wilgenbusch officiating.  Burial will be at St. Athanasius Catholic Cemetery, Jesup, IA, with military rites conducted by Pump-Scheer American Legion Post #342 of Jesup, IA. 

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at the White Funeral Home, 1315 Main Street, Jesup, IA  50648, where there will a 4:00 p.m. – Knights of Columbus Rosary and 7:00 p.m. – Vigil Service.  Visitation will continue for an hour before services Wednesdayat the Church.
