Independence – Judith M. Meister, 52 years old, of Independence, Iowa, died on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.  She was born on April 10, 1964, in Cherokee, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth Francis and Barbara Jean (Stover) Meister.  She attended school in Independence, Iowa, and finished her G.E.D. at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, Iowa.  Ms. Meister worked in the finish department of Bertch Cabinets in Waterloo, Iowa, until becoming disabled.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  She also grew vegetables and canned her produce.

Ms. Meister is survived by her daughter, Tanya (Matt) Lorenz of Raymond, Iowa, her mother, Barbara Meister of Jesup, Iowa, her father, Kenneth Meister of Independence, Iowa, and 4 sisters, Dolores (Wayne) Hollenkamp of Mora, Minnesota, Christina (Dave) Wessels and Mary Meister, both of Independence, Iowa, and Kathy Meister of Jesup, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at the First Presbyterian Church in Jesup, Iowa, with Rev. John Molacek officiating.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Winthrop, Iowa, at a later date.  Friends may call for visitation from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, June 24^th, at the White Funeral Home in Independence.
