Jesup – Donald George Lux, 82, of Jesup, died Monday, January 25, 2016, at his home.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Friday, January 29, 2016, at the American Lutheran Church, Jesup, IA, with burial at Cedar Crest Cemetery, Jesup.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the White Funeral Home, Jesup and for an hour before services Friday at the church.  Memorials will be directed to the American Lutheran Church in Jesup and to Cedar Valley Hospice in Independence, IA.

Mr. Lux was born on April 25, 1933, in Waukee, son of Walter George Lux and Winnette Winifred (Wilson) Lux.  He graduated from Waukee High School in 1950.   Following graduation, he married Barbara Reed in Des Moines, Iowa. Donnie and Barbara farmed around the Waukee area until 1960 when they moved to Fulton, MO.  While in Fulton, Donnie farmed in the area.  In 1974, Donnie and Barbara divorced.  Donnie continued farming in Missouri until late 1975 when he moved to Jesup, Iowa to work for his brother-in-law, Wayne Natvig.

In 1975, Donnie met Lavon Versluis and on July 10, 1976, they were married in Jesup.  Donnie worked for Greenley Elevator, Ehr and Natvig Seed Company, B & B Farm Store and most recently worked and retired from Jesup Farmer’s Cooperative in April 1998.

Don is survived by his wife, Lavon, five sons, Curt (Kathy) Lux of Port Richie, FL; Gary (Wanda) Lux of Holt Summit, MO; Keith (Kelly) Lux of Waukee, IA; Rodney (Roxane) Lux of Waterloo, IA and Richard Lux of St. Petersburg, FL; three step-daughters, Tammy (Tom) Burlis  of Chesterfield, MO; Tracy (Dennis) Weaver and Tina (Wade) Bagenstos of Des Moines, IA.  Eleven grandchildren Kellie (Corey) Pontius of Mokane, MO; Jenny (De’Mario) Mabry of Waterloo, IA, Josh (Jennifer) Lux of Holt Summit, MO; Ashley (David) May, and Justin Lux of Waukee, IA; Sarah and Corey Lux of Waterloo, IA; Chad Lux, Matt Lux, Andy Lux, and Tommy Lux of St. Petersburg, FL and Aaron Lux of Chicago, IL, Taylor and Nathan Burlis of Chesterfield, MO and Blake and Ryan Bagenstos of Des Moines, IA.  Ten great grandchildren:  MacKenzie and Maddy Lux of Holt Summit, MO; Gracie and Grayden Pontius of Mokane, MO; Trevion, Kyrese, Da’Cyas and Olivia Mabry, Alauna and Carter Lux of Waterloo, IA.  Two sisters Doris Ann (Wayne) Natvig of Jesup, IA and Helen “Sis” (Bill) Ward of AR.

Preceding him in death were his parents, and brothers:  Lloyd (Junior) Rawson and Harry Lux.
