Jesup – Sharon Lorraine McMartin, 68 years old of rural Jesup, IA, died Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, IA of cancer.  She was born October 20, 1943, in Malone, New York, the daughter of Sidney Earl “Buster” FiField and Elizabeth (Kelly) FiField.  She graduated from High School in 1961 from Lyon Mountain High School, Lyon Mountain, New York.  On July 21, 1961, she was united in marriage to Nyle Ronald McMartin at the Methodist church in Lyon Mountain.  They have made their home in the Littleton area of rural Jesup for many years.  Sharon worked for 25 plus years at the Mental Health Institute in Independence, IA as an Aid.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Jesup.

Mrs. McMartin is survived by her husband, Nyle of rural Jesup; two sons, Mike McMartin of Jesup and Mark McMartin of Marengo, IA; one sister, Janet FiField (Mike) Benjamin of Elizabeth City, N.C.; five grandchildren, Sidney McMartin, Jacob McMartin, Mitchel McMartin, Lane McMartin and Melissa (Steve) Dunn; three great grandchildren, Tommy, Tyler and Titus Dunn; three aunts, Lorraine FiField Klein of Cadyville, NY, Doris  Kelly (John) Haliburda of Mineville, NY, Patricia “Pat” Franck of Keesville, NY.

Her son, Nyle McMartin, Jr. in 2005; her grandmother, Thersa Baker; parents; two brothers, infant brother Ronald FiField in 1958 and brother Dale FiField, and one sister, Beverly FiField Stockwell, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Monday, February 13, 2012, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA, with Rev. Kristy K. Parker officiating.  Casket Bearers will be Mitchell, Lane, Sidney and Jacob McMartin.  Burial will be at the Littleton Cemetery at Littleton.  Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA.

Memorials will be directed to the American Cancer Society and to the Allen Hospice in Waterloo.
