JESUP – Kimberly K. Zayas, 61 years old, of Cedar Falls, IA, and formerly of Jesup, IA, died, Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at UnityPoint Health – Allen Memorial Hospital, in Waterloo, IA.

Celebration of Life gathering will be 6:00 p.m. – Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the Littleton Lounge. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences may be posted at www.White-MtHope.com

Kim was born May 1, 1962, in Waterloo, the daughter of Lawrence Allen Christensen and Barbara Elizabeth (Tippey) Christensen. She graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1980. She moved to New York where she was a nanny. In 1989 she married Louis Torino Zayas in New York, New York. The couple later divorced. She moved back to Jesup and eventually graduated from the College of Hair Design. She worked at the Shear Shack in Jesup until her retirement.

Kim loved watching her sons’ sporting events and being with her friends. She also liked to be outside fishing, camping, and gardening.

Kim is survived by her two sons, Timothy Zayas of Cedar Falls, IA, Coty (Danielle) Zayas of Coal Valley, IL; her mother, Barbara Christensen of Oelwein, IA; three sisters, Shawn Christensen of Prairie du Chien, WI, Sherrie (Randy) Routt, and Kelli (Darin) Christensen, all of Oelwein, IA; and several nieces and nephews.
