Rowley – Katherine M. “Kate” Carver, 93 years old, of Rowley, Iowa , died on Saturday, December 29, 2018 , at the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence, Iowa .  She was born on November 26, 1925, in Buchanan County, Iowa, the daughter of Marshall Curtis and Retha Marie (Brown) Chesmore.  She attended school in Quasqueton, Iowa .  On November 28, 1942, she and Virgil Frederick Carver were married in Kahoka, Missouri .  He preceded her in death in 2007.  Mrs. Carver was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Rowley, Iowa.  She was a person who never met a stranger and she enjoyed time spent visiting with friends and family.

Mrs. Carver is survived by 2 daughters, Elaine (Larry) Ague of Rowley, Iowa, and Jo Ann Dillon of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, 3 sons, Duane “Chub” Carver of Marion, Iowa, Larry (Julie) Carver of Walker, Iowa, and Wayne (Mary) Carver of Independence, 18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sons, Glenn Carver, Neil Carver, and Merlin Carver, 1 granddaughter, 1 brother, Willis “Bill” Chesmore, and 1 sister, Marcella Hekel.

Memorial services will be held at a later date and her cremated remains will be buried in Quasqueton Cemetery in Quasqueton , Iowa.
